The culprit of eyes---------inferior lighting

According to the National Health Vision Report, the myopia rate of Chinese teenagers has been rising in recent years, and the high school students and college students have a myopia rate of more than 70%, and there is a trend of younger age. The report mentions that in addition to subjective factors such as heredity, overuse of eyes and eye habits, the impact of the lighting environment on vision is crucial. The "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Prevention and Control of Myopia for Children and Adolescents" also states that all primary and secondary schools should ensure that classroom lighting and lighting meet the relevant national documents and standards, and provide students with a learning environment that meets eye hygiene requirements.

When the lighting is too strong and the color temperature is too high, it will enhance the fatigue of the eyes. The stroboscopic and blue light hazards are even more miserable. Although the naked eye has no obvious feeling, this kind of damage does exist. Long-term exposure to this kind of lighting environment can cause serious damage to the eye cells, induce dry eye syndrome, insomnia and other symptoms.
However, when it comes to the topic of “health and eye protection”, there is a very interesting phenomenon. When you walk into the mall, you will find "eye protection lights" and "healthy light sources" everywhere. CCTV's "Weekly Quality Report" has conducted a sample survey on the "eye-protection lamps" that are on sale in the market. As a result, most of them have problems such as high color temperature and uneven illumination. So what is health lighting? What is the standard?
•Standard of health lighting
"Indoor workplace lighting" suggests that the color temperature of the living room should not be higher than 3000K; the color temperature of classroom lighting in primary and secondary schools should not exceed 4000K. Because the blue light energy of 415~455nm wavelength in the light source is high, the damage to the eye is very large. When the color temperature is increased from 4000K to 5000K, the blue light content is increased by 39%.

Therefore, true health lighting should be soft in color, suitable in color temperature, no blue light, radiation, stroboscopic hazard, and true color rendering.

2 Photobiological hazard evaluation

OLED lighting can reduce the photobiological hazards caused by artificial light sources. The following experimental data perfectly proves this statement. After measuring the thickness of the retina exposed to each illumination lamp for 12 hours per day for 60 days, the thickness of the retina under OLED illumination did not change, and the LED was damaged by 9.3%.
